At Gavin Transport our aim is to provide a professional and reliable service to all of our clients with the intention of establishing and maintaining long term business associations. Gavin transport has been in operation since 1991. Since this time the business has grown from a one truck company into a fleet of over 21 trucks and vehicles with a fully equipped workshop and new transport depot located in Maddington, Western Australia.

The business now offers transport from the Perth metropolitan area to anywhere in Australia. We mainly specialise in the transportation of equipment for the mining, earthmoving, construction and farming industries.

Our extensive range and quantity of equipment allows us to meet our clients varied and demanding requirements. All our equipment passes the strict requirements of Main Roads Western Australia. In the more recent years we have developed our area of operation to include more specialised heavy haulage and over dimensional transport throughout Australia.

What is an Oversize/Overweight Vehicle?

Any articulated vehicle where the dimensions of the load (indivisible item) and the towing articulated vehicle exceed 2.5m wide, 4.3m high and 19m long.

What is an ‘indivisible’ item?

An indivisible item is an item that cannot be divided without extreme effort, expense or risk of damage to it.

Individual items must not be loaded side by side to a width of more than 2.5 metres, or one above the other to a height of more than 4.3 metres, or one behind the other to an overall length of more than 12.5 metres for a rigid vehicle, or 19.0 metres for an articulated vehicle or a rigid vehicle and trailer.

If an indivisible item can be reasonably loaded in more than one way, it must be loaded in the way which minimises its width. An oversize vehicle without a load must be reduced to the smallest practical dimension.
